2000 'LIKES' on Facebook

Hello all,

We just wanted to share some really exciting news with you: as of last week, we now have more than 2,000 'likes' on the Board's Facebook page.

For those of you familiar with the Board's communications strategy, you'll recall that social media is a critical component, so reaching 2,000 likes is an important milestone for us. It's significant considering that in the first three years we only had about 250 followers, but in less than two years we added another 1,750. That's a huge amount of growth in a short amount of time, and we can only assume that figure will continue to grow.

Facebook and social media, have allowed us to create a virtual community of people who are keenly interested in the content we provide, and many of those people share that content with their own network of friends and family. It's the virtual equivalent of word-of-mouth, but with the potential to reach vastly more people. And the more people who read about the great things happening within our board, the greater the likelihood that we'll further enhance the already solid reputation of our schools and everything they offer.

To celebrate in our latest milestone, we created this video to celebrate the occasion. We hope you enjoy and share it on your social media sites as well.

So if you're one of the people who recently liked us on Facebook, or invited your friends to do so: thanks for the support! We couldn't have done it without you. Now let's keep the momentum going!

Police Chief for the Day - Congratulations Kaitlin!

Kaitlin in Mrs. Guthrie's grade 6 class submitted an essay about being Police Chief for the day.  Her submission was selected from all the entry's of our local elementary schools.  On Thursday Kaitlin was greeted at school by Constable Gill and Staff Sergeant Chevalier and whisked away for a day of police duties.  Kaitlyn met Cheif Leontowicz and toured the state of the art LaSalle Police Station. Major Anteaya took her for a tour of the Town Hall.  Kaitlin beamed all day with a big smile.
We are very PROUD of you Kaitlin!

Scholastic Book Fair - A Great Success!

Students were BUZZING about the good books you could find at the Book Fair.
It is a beautiful sight to see a student nose deep in a book!

Thanks to the CSAC for hosting the event and putting in all the hours to be there for our students to make their purchases!  You certainly made a difference in the lives of our students.

Congratulations to Joshua from Mrs. Beaton's class who won the $25 in free books and his teacher who also received $25 to spend on books for the classroom.  Joshua bought a Collection of Geronimo Stilton.  Nice choice Josh!
